European Journal of Evaluation and Research in Education (EJERE)
Inaugural Issue – 2026
The European Journal of Evaluation and Research in Education (EJERE) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original contributions for its inaugural issue.
EJERE is an international, peer-reviewed journal promoted by INVALSI, dedicated to advancing research on educational evaluation, large-scale assessment, and evidence-informed policy and practice. The journal aims to foster high-quality scientific debate and to bridge research, data, and decision-making in education systems.
Aims and Scope of the Inaugural Issue
The first issue of EJERE seeks to establish the Journal as a reference point in the field of educational evaluation, with a strong focus on the role of data, measurement, and evidence in improving education systems.
We welcome contributions addressing, but not limited to, the following areas:
- large-scale assessments and international surveys;
- evaluation of learning outcomes and school performance;
- use of educational data for policy-making;
- methodologies in educational measurement and assessment;
- equity, inclusion, and disparities in learning outcomes;
- effectiveness of educational policies and interventions;
- data-informed school improvement and accountability systems;
- digital assessment and innovation in evaluation;
Interdisciplinary and comparative perspectives are particularly encouraged.
Timeline
- Submission deadline: 31 August 2026
- Notification to authors: 30 September 2026
- Publication: November 2026
Author Guidelines
Submissions must:
- present original and unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere;
- be written in English;
- comply with Submission Guidelines and Instructions for Authors available on the Journal website;
- include an abstract (no more than 200 words) and 3-5 keywords;
- follow the required referencing style (a template is available on the Journal website).
Peer Review Process
All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Manuscripts will be evaluated based on:
- scientific quality and originality;
- methodological rigor;
- relevance to the field of educational evaluation;
- clarity and contribution to research and/or policy.
