Submission Guidelines and instructions for authors

The manuscript must be relevant to the topics and aims of the Journal, as described on its website. It must be written exclusively in English and should not have been previously published or be currently under review by other journals.

Interested parties should submit their contribution using the following template: download the template.

In order to ensure a proper editorial evaluation and to increase the likelihood of acceptance of the manuscript, authors are strongly advised to consult the Journal’s Code of Ethics, in particular Article 4 (Submission and evaluation of the manuscript) and Article 8 (Use of Artificial Intelligence tools).

The manuscript must be submitted anonymously by the author or the lead author in case of multiple authors (the text must not contain any references that would allow the author(s) to be identified). The references of the author(s) should be cited in text and in the reference list as [Author, XXXX], followed by a number in case of multiple sources from the submitting author(s).

Following acceptance by the reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief, author(s) may include their own sources in both the reference list and in-text citations.

In case of multiple authors, the author submitting the manuscript will be considered the corresponding author. A biographical note about the author(s) (no more than 100 words) must be uploaded as a separate file during the submission process.

The manuscript should include the following sections:

  • Abstract (no more than 200 words)
  • Keywords (3-5)
  • Introduction
  • Theoretical framework
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Implications
  • Disclosure statement: “No potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).”
  • Declaration of funding / no funding: “This research was funded by [Funding body].” Or “This research received no external funding.”
  • References

If the manuscript contains images of any kind, these must be included in the manuscript and also uploaded separately in a single .zip file. The file should be named in accordance with the text and the images should be of a resolution suitable for printing (PNG or JPEG format, minimum 300 dpi). Tables and graphs must be editable in all their components (i.e. they must not be provided as images, but rather in a format such as Excel).

For bibliographical references, the American Psychological Association (APA 7th edition) citation style must be used. Where available, the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and the web link should be indicated.

The complete manuscript (including references, appendices, tables, and abstract) must be between 4,000 and 7,000 words long.

By submitting their manuscript, each author implicitly declares that the materials provided (e.g. text, photographs, tables, graphs, videos and audio) do not infringe any third-party rights (including intellectual property rights, copyright and the data protection rights of data subjects), and that they have the full and free right to use these materials.

Once submitted, the manuscript will first be reviewed by the Editorial Board to verify its suitability in terms of both form and content in relation to the topics of the Journal.

All submitted manuscripts will be checked by plagiarism detection software.

If the manuscript is deemed suitable for review, it will then be assessed by the reviewers through a double-blind peer review process. Depending on their feedbacks, the manuscript may be accepted without the need for further amendments, rejected, or the author(s) may be asked to make amendments, including substantial ones.

The corresponding author agrees to any editorial amendments to the text of a formal and non-substantive nature that may be required in accordance with the Editorial Guidelines of the Journal. At the end of the editorial process, the author(s) may request to review the proofs and discuss any changes made.

In any case, the final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, supported by the Editorial Board.

To foster intellectual exchange and disseminate their work more widely and quickly, each author is encouraged to publicise their work online.

The name and email address provided by corresponding author during registration on the website of the Journal will be used for the stated purposes only and will not be shared with third parties. Only in case the article is published, email addresses of all authors will be included in the Journal, as is standard practice for scientific publications.
